Whitsunday Islands, here I come!

I’ve just finished organising a holiday for late October sailing around the Whitsunday Islands on this sailing boat (to the left). It’s going to be so exciting! It’ll be for 3 days and 3 nights. I’ll have my own room ‘cause I’m not interested in sharing a 4-bunk room with a bunch of strangers. Plus they might not appreciate my snoring….

I’ll be flying up to Mackay first and spending a couple days there in an exclusive spa suite at this hotel (to the right) and catching up with a friend that lives up there. I decided to go for an exclusive room with a view (+ 2 balconies!) because I can afford it… I might not get another chance for a holiday like this in a long time, and I intend living it up as much as I can.

So after spending the time in Mackay I’ll drive further north to Airlie Beach, the ‘gateway to the Whitsunday Islands’. I’ll be jumping on the boat the same afternoon and spending 3 glorious days and nights sailing around the tropical islands and Great Barrier Reef.

When I come back and get off the boat I’ll spend another 2 days staying in some apartments and taking in the sights and sounds of Airlie Beach.

This is going to include some major relaxation time, lounging about, wandering around the town, taking photos, and just enjoying myself as much as I can. I’m definitely looking forward to the photos….

I’ll also be throwing in an airplane flight over the islands and the Great Barrier Reef so that I can get some aerial photos as well.
